Sir Winston Churchill was an avid traveller. Indeed, throughout the World, there are numerous hotels that claim to have hosted the illustrious British statesman. On one occasion, Churchill, as a young army officer, bored and seeking adventure, travelled to Cuba, keen to observe the 1895 war at first hand. The Caribbean island was in the midst of a war, fighting for independence from Spain. Churchill based himself in Arroyo Blanco, a small village in the Sancti Spiritus, a location that proved the ideal vantage point to observe the conflict unfold.

An addition to the popular Churchill collection, this new timepiece incorporates several familiar details, including the steel and titanium case, the guilloché dial and the neat, hinged lever at 3 o’clock that serves as the crown. However, this watch incorporates two additional features.

Firstly, a date display, located at 3 o’clock, is positioned beneath a loupe integrated within the sapphire crystal, affording a magnified view of the prevailing date.

Secondly, besides the customary hour, minutes and centre seconds hands, the Churchill 1895 GMT features a short pointer-style hand endowed with a prominent red triangular tip. This hand collaborates with a recessed 24-hour track to denote the hour at home.
