The story

Cuervo y Sobrinos honours the enduring patronage of Ernest Hemingway, the esteemed author and iconic figure of the 20th century, by introducing a new set of watches exclusively dedicated to his memory. Building upon the resounding success of their initial limited edition release, this latest offering serves as a fitting tribute to Hemingway's legacy.

Coinciding with the 125th Anniversary of Hemingway's birth on July 21st, 2024, this commemorative set embodies the spirit of the Nobel Prize-winning author, celebrating his literary contributions and his fondness for the relaxed Cuban lifestyle.

During his extensive stay in Cuba spanning over two decades, Hemingway developed a deep affection for the country and its distinct Latin culture, a sentiment reflected in the essence of Cuervo y Sobrinos timepieces.

As the first Swiss watches to receive official licensing from Hemingway Limited, an organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of the literary giant, Cuervo y Sobrinos models embody his spirit and vision.

Ernest Miller Hemingway (1899 - 1961) led a life as rich and adventurous as the characters in his celebrated works of fiction. From journalism to rebellion, from hunting to fishing, his multifaceted persona left an indelible mark on history. Yet, it is his literary contributions that endure, immortalizing him in the annals of literature.

Residing at "Finca Vigia" for two decades, from 1939 to 1960, Hemingway cherished his time in Cuba, finding relief in its Caribbean allure. A frequent visitor to the Cuervo y Sobrinos boutique during his Cuban sojourn, the esteemed writer shared a special bond with the brand.

The latest addition to Cuervo y Sobrinos' collection, the Historiador Hemingway Set, comprises two meticulously crafted timepieces: an argenté bicompax and a black GMT model.

Drawing inspiration from vintage aesthetics, the creative team at Cuervo y Sobrinos has carefully selected hues that resonate with watch connoisseurs, collectors, and devoted admirers of the renowned writer.

Adding a touch of elegance, both watches feature an 18-carat gold plate on the side case at 9 o'clock, proudly displaying the unique edition number.

Don't miss the opportunity to join the select group of 50 individuals worldwide who will have the privilege of owning this exceptional set, sharing the timeless elegance of Cuervo y Sobrinos with the enduring legacy of Ernest Hemingway.

The two watches have a diameter of 40 mm, housed within a stainless steel Historiador case accurately selected for its vintage-inspired allure and the comfort it offers with its elongated lugs. On the bicompax watch, the back displays the distinctive Hemingway logo engraved, serving as a subtle nod to the iconic American novelist. Meanwhile, the GMT model features an open backcase, providing a hint into the intricate inner mechanism of the timepiece. Here, the oscillating weight showcases Hemingway's logo, paying homage to his literary legacy.

The bicompax model is presented with a brown coordinated leather strap and the GMT comes with a metal bracelet. Additionally, both watches include a black leather strap in the set, providing versatility for wearers to effortlessly switch between looks.
