On the 10th December, numerous guests attended the Latino Award 2021, held on the terrace of the prestigious Iberostar Parque Central. Introduced in 2003, the Latino Award pays homage to notable Latin figures that have achieved international acclaim in their chosen field.
On this occasion, Cuervo y Sobrinos honoured the legendary son of Cuba, César López, in recognition of his musical career as a saxophonist, arranger and composer.
The event was hosted by the beautiful and highly talented actress, Yia Caamaño. The proceedings were held in the presence of the honourable Swiss Consul for Cuba, Mrs Francoise Killias Zillweger, as well as guests linked to ‘la Oficina del Historiador’, ‘Tiendas de Patrimonio cultrual’ and the ‘Boutique-Museo Cuervo y Sobrinos’.
Other guests included leading names from Cuba’s cultural scene, such as the renowned Chamber Orchestra Director, Ms Zenaida Romeu, of the all-female string orchestra, Camerata Romeu. Furthermore, Magdan Resik, the Communication Director of the ‘Oficina del Historiador’ and Havana Radio was also present. In addition, members of Cuba’s business community, along with friends of César López, was also in attendance.
Massimo Rossi, CEO of Cuervo y Sobrinos, presented the Latino Award to Mr López which included a personalised Cuervo y Sobrinos watch.
Mr López was honoured with a live solo recital of ‘Yesterday’, performed on the saxophone. Thereafter, a Cuban Sax Quintet, comprised of renowned Cuban saxophonists, including César López, delivered a spectacular concert.
With Florería Islaflor floral arrangements, cocktails, tapas, fabulous music, fine watches and many friends in attendance, the night proved an unforgettable event.
