Cuervo y Sobrinos, the prestigious Swiss watch brand with a Latin heart, founded in Havana in 1882, has given its “Latino Internacional 2004” award to actor Andy García. Created last year, this prize goes to persons of Hispanic origin who have gained international fame.
The first edition of the award went to film director Pedro Almodóvar. Today, in its second edition, the prize goes to another film celebrity.
After a lengthy wait due to the actor’s busy schedule, Andy Garcia was given the prize at his home in Miami – an exclusive Cuervo y Sobrinos watch created and customized for the occasion.
D. Marzio Villa, President of CyS, awarded the prize in person.
