Iberian Historic Endurance Relaxed Historic Racing
The Iberian Historic Endurance, one of the most prestigious classics competitions in the Iberian Peninsula, took place on October 07 and 08 at Estoril Classics, an event that has already become a mandatory crossing point on the European itinerary of major classics events.
The Estoril Autódromo hosted another edition of the Estoril Classics, an authentic festival of races, featuring cars that marked the history of motor sport. Cuervo y Sobrinos joined the Historic Endurance competition as Official Timekeeper and showed some of its new products — including the limited edition Historiador Historic Endurance chronograph. Many guests were there to attend the presentation of this special model.
In fact this year for the first time, Cuervo y Sobrinos has created an exclusive Historic Endurance chronograph model - a tribute to the competition and a "must have" for all pilots. The main features of the watch are: 40 mm vintage design case, British Racing green dial with contrasting silver-toned counters, automatic chronograph movement and black driving style strap with green stitching.
The Historic Endurance chronograph is a limited edition of 76 pieces individually numbered, inspired by classic car racing. The first prototype was presented as a preview in Portimão, on May 06 and 07 during the Algarve Welcome Spring which was the very first stop of Iberian Historic Endurance race 2023.
The limited edition number of only 76 pieces is not a coincidence; it is the number that identifies the last year of production of the vehicles that can be chosen to compete in the Historic Endurance race.

This year marks the 10th edition of the Iberian Historic Endurance which, after the summer break, closed another highly successful weekend of Estoril Classics with a vibrant fifty-minute race where Bruno Santos beat a field of 44 cars, taking his first victory in the most prestigious classic car competition in the Iberian Peninsula with his Porsche 911 3.0 RS.
With the motto “Relaxed Historic Racing” and the aim of providing exciting classic racing for Gentlemen Drivers at the best events and circuits in southern Europe, Historic Endurance won't be as exciting as it is without the Performance Index. The winner often comes from the category of cars with a smaller engine capacity.
In this edition, there were several candidates for the desired prize, where the winner is not the first to cross the finish line, but the one has the best performance according to age, engine capacity and type of car (Touring, GT or Sport).
Congratulations to all pilots who managed to finish these difficult races, with a mention to Vincent Torneau, the charismatic French driver who is an ambassador of Cuervo y Sobrinos, as well as his Porsche 356 Speedster that once belonged to James Dean, who triumphed in the Index of Performance. Vincent Torneau won an amazing Historiador Asturias watch from Cuervo y Sobrinos.
The Historiador collection by Cuervo y Sobrinos is easily associated with the classic races because it is made up of watches with historical inspiration, although showing a modern touch. Clearly, it is the most appropriate collection from Cuervo y Sobrinos to symbolize the partnership of the Iberian Classic Endurance competition, which has annually brought to Portugal, Spain and Belgium some of the most famous cars of the last century. Number 1 of the limited edition chronograph was given to Guillermo Velasco, creator and organizer of the Iberian Historic Endurance race.
The next stage will be in Jerez de la Frontera on October 21 and 22, but the competition will return to Estoril circuit to conclude this wonderful 2023 edition.
