Cuervo y Sobrinos reaffirms its role as Official Timekeeper for the 2024 Grand Final in Dubrovnik

For 15 years, the Cigar Smoking World Championship (CSWC) has captivated cigar enthusiasts worldwide with its unique blend of competition and friendship. As the competition’s official timekeeper, Cuervo y Sobrinos is honored to be a part of this international event, which brings together both male and female participants who share a passion for fine cigars. In this competition, the goal is simple: contestants slowly savor their cigars, with the winner being the last person to finish smoking.

Winston Churchill once compared cigar smoking to falling in love: "First, you are attracted by its shape; you stay for its flavor, and you must remember never, never to let the flame go out."

This sentiment perfectly captures the essence of the CSWC, where the objective is to smoke a cigar for as long as possible, requiring patience and skill.

The 2024 CSWC Grand Finale, held from August 30th  to September 1st  for the first time in its history at the stunning Rixos Hotel in Dubrovnik, Croatia, attracted participants from all over the globe. It was an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and celebrate Latin culture, luxury, and premium quality.

Cuervo y Sobrinos, the only luxury watch brand born in Havana, embodies these values.

In an unforgettable competition, German champion Hauke Walter made history by winning the title for the third time and securing his second consecutive victory.

With an impressive time of 2 hours, 51 minutes, and 43 seconds, Walter demonstrated strategic skill and composure under immense pressure, facing off against some of the world’s best cigar smokers.

For his outstanding achievement, he was awarded with  an iconic Cuervo y Sobrinos Asturias Pequeños Segundos watch with a stunning salmon dial.

The best woman in the competition, Anastasiya Arsenova, with an exceptional time of 2 hours, 35 minute and 48 seconds, was awarded with a brand new Cuervo y Sobrinos Historiador Primera Dama, symbol of timeless sophistication and elegance.

Cuervo y Sobrinos extends its gratitude to CSWC founder and cigar master Marko Bilic and his dedicated team for their creativity and top-notch organization, ensuring that every event is of the highest quality.

Since 1882, Cuervo y Sobrinos has built a rich legacy that transcends time and borders, and now extends its craftsmanship into the world of premium cigars.

In fact, consistently with the brand’s DNA and its lifestyle dimension, decides to make a partnership in the sector of premium cigars and the CSWC 2024 Grand Final was the perfect occasion to present Cuervo y Sobrinos Cigars.

Cuervo y Sobrinos announced its collaboration with Cigar Conexion to introduce a line of premium cigars, blending the spirit of Havana with the artisanal expertise of Nicaragua.

In partnership with Tabacalera Pages, these cigars are hand-rolled in Estelí, Nicaragua, a region renowned for its fertile soil and ideal climate for growing world-class tobacco.
